As we all know, the ecological transition requires the integration of new, more efficient technologies for producing, transporting, storing and, of course, consuming energy, but even more so for reducing energy consumption.
But all this is just the tip of the iceberg. There’s another, much more discreet but equally important part: the integration of cutting-edge technologies in the management of support programs and financial aid for consumers and businesses investing in the ecological transition. This is where we come in, with our partner Groupe Marketing International (GMI), to make all administrative tasks more efficient, and thus accelerate, at lower cost, this essential ecological shift that Quebec must make. Our tool: the CODA customer service platform, developed in conjunction with the Odoo ERP software package.
The best example of this perfect marriage between management and environmental technologies is Hydro-Québec’s LogisVert program, one of the flagship initiatives designed to encourage the energy transition and aimed at both businesses and individuals. For the record, LogisVert offers financial assistance for energy efficiency measures such as installing heat pumps, replacing conventional dryers with heat pump dryers, or carrying out insulation work.
There’s no doubt that the scale and success of Hydro-Québec’s LogisVert program represent a major step forward in Quebec’s energy transition.
But this success brings with it a major challenge: managing a very large volume of applications accompanied by a multitude of supporting documents (proof of ownership, installation photos, purchase and installation invoices, etc.), all of which are “unstructured” documents arriving in different formats with very variable quality. This makes it impossible to use conventional automated OCR tools.
Nor is it possible to process these files by hand, using Excel files, as the operational cost would be disproportionate to the amount of aid provided, but, above all, the risk of error would be very high due to the complexity of this type of program.
The solution lies in a technology platform developed in Quebec: CODA. Based on Odoo, an ERP system of Belgian origin that is gaining market share around the world, CODA combines human and machine intelligence to analyze, filter, sort and categorize an incredible amount of information in a very short time. Its role is to automate everything that can be automated, leaving only value-added work to customer service agents. Indeed, until proven otherwise, only a person with a critical eye for information, imagination and empathy can provide the same quality of service to all categories of the population.
The benefits of automation go far beyond simply saving time.
